Many high schools are such big institutions with so many competing interest groups that they end up focusing on two kinds of students: the kids who struggle to succeed (and therefore reflect poorly on the school) and the kids that perform at such high levels that they make the school look good. Unfortunately, this often leaves the vast middle majority unattended to. This Florida high school realized the problem of the neglected middle and set about changing the culture to celebrate the improvement of all students, not just the accomplishments or struggles of a few.
